Caisealrag Cottage at Crear
- the perfect romantic bolt hole along the Seafood Trail
Caisealrag Cottage is ideally situated on the B8024 coastal road as a special place to stay while exploring the Seafood Trail. The cottage offers self catering accommodation for up to parties of six, which can be booked by the night or the week to offer complete flexibility. Just over a two-hour drive from Glasgow, and set within Scotland’s richest prehistoric landscape, Caisealrag is remote and secluded, yet intimate and welcoming.
Caisealrag is a traditional stone cottage built in the 1880’s sympathetically restored with a modern twist. Wherever you look, the emphasis is on comfort and warmth, style and understated luxury. The light and airy living space has floor to ceiling windows with views to the hills. Sink into one of the deep armchairs or sofas in front of the wood burning stove. Enjoy the simplicity of warm stone floors and white washed walls, crisp linen sheets and traditional oak shutters. Walk straight onto rolling fields and open hills, or onto rugged coastal paths and sandy beaches.
As the perfect romantic bolt hole for couples in both winter and summer, the original cottage sleeps two in a bespoke cherry wood bed, with en-suite bathroom with a double ended bath and overhead shower. With views to the Isle of Gigha, additional guests can sleep in two further bedrooms with en-suite shower rooms, housed in an extension with its own private entrance.
The coastal road to Caisealrag along the Seafood Trail offers uninterrupted views to the Isles of Islay, Jura and Gigha, and the lighthouses of Rathlin Island. We look forward to welcoming you at the end of one of the most beautiful journeys in Scotland.
